How did the feud with Reba start?
Ok, so years ago, Martie started somewhat of a feud with Reba McEntire. She stated: "I'd rather have a smaller following of really cool people who get it, who will grow with us as we grow and are fans for life, than people that have us in their five-disc changer with Reba McEntire and Toby Keith. We don't want those kinds of fans. They limit what you can do."[71] Maines also retracted her earlier apology to President Bush, stating, "I apologized for disrespecting the office of the President, but I don't feel that way anymore. I don't feel he is owed any respect whatsoever." This somewhat of a backlash by Reba.
Anyways, I know that they already didn't like Toby, but does anyone know why they started the feud with Reba?

Anyway soon after "the incident" Reba was the host of one of the country award ceremonies. Basically she made some jokes at the Chicks expense (something about something being about as likely as the Chicks playing the next Bush family get-together). They felt like Reba was kicking them while they were down, especially Martie to my understanding b/c she was/is a big fan of Reba's. I think she said some other things about the Chicks as well.
I'm sure Reba didn't write the jokes, but I'm also sure she didn't have a problem saying them, and probably was happy to do them. From everything I know, she's a very conservative republican and good friends with the Bush family.
Not directed at you in the least, but I do wish these things would go away. I personally like Reba, Toby, and the Chicks. Okay, so I am definitely a bigger fan of the Chicks than the other two, but who doesn't like "How do you like me now" or "Fancy" ? In my perfect little world everyone would get over themselves and go back to the music like it was before that fateful day in 2003. I mean Toby won't even say Natalie's name for crying out loud.
